The Bloom Promise

Bloom is built for LGBTQ+ adults who want respectful connection — romance, friendship, or community. These guidelines sit alongside our Terms of Service. Breaking them can lead to warnings, limits, or a permanent ban.

Respect the silos

Honour the space you are in and other people’s boundaries — whether you are here for dating, friendship, or something else you both agree on.

Kindness is mandatory

Zero tolerance for harassment, hate, threats, stalking, or sustained bad-faith behaviour. Treat others with the respect you expect.

Be authentic

Use real photos of yourself, be honest about what you are looking for, and do not impersonate others. Catfishing and fake profiles are not allowed.

18+ only

Everyone on Bloom must be 18 or older. Report suspected underage accounts immediately. We may require identity or age verification. Age-record contacts are in our 18 U.S.C. § 2257 statement.

No nudity or sexual content

Bloom is 18+, but it is not an adult app. Do not post or send nudity or sexually explicit material — in profile photos, in Discover or event posts, in voice prompts, or in private messages.

• No exposed genitals, buttocks, or nipples
• No sexual acts, real or simulated
• No sexually explicit messages, voice notes, or written content
• No underwear or swimwear shots that are clearly sexual rather than a photo of your day

Ordinary photos at the beach, at a pool, or at a Pride march are welcome. The rule is the same for every member regardless of gender. We remove content that breaks it, and repeat breaches lose the account.

Not allowed

• Harassment, hate speech, or discrimination
• Nudity or sexually explicit content — Bloom is 18+, not an adult app
• Sexual content involving minors (zero tolerance — report and ban)
• Human trafficking, sex trafficking, or using Bloom to recruit, advertise, or move people for exploitation
• Physical abuse, or arranging, threatening, or celebrating violence
• Prostitution, escort ads, or “pay for sex” — Bloom is not a place to buy or sell sexual services
• Scams, phishing, or requests for money under false pretences
• Spam, commercial solicitation outside approved business listings
• Doxxing, non-consensual intimate imagery, or serious threats
• Illegal activity or content that violates Australian or New Zealand law

No trafficking, abuse, or commercial sex

You may not use Bloom — the website, the app, profiles, messages, events, or listings — to promote or facilitate human trafficking, sex trafficking, physical abuse, prostitution, or any commercial sex arrangement. That includes escort advertising, “pay for meet” sex offers, and recruiting people for those purposes.

Bloom does not sell sexual services. Paid products are optional memberships (Plus / Premium) and event tickets only. Confirmed violations are a permanent ban. We report to authorities where Australian or New Zealand law requires it.

How to report

Use in-app report flows (for example Mixer, Messages, or profile safety options) so our team gets the right context. You can also email hello@bloomapp.com.au with links/screenshots and the other person’s display name if you can. For trafficking, abuse, underage use, or someone selling sex, say so in the report — we treat those as priority.
