Terms of Service
Last updated: 5 August 2026
Operated by Bloom Social (Australia). Support: hello@bloomapp.com.au
1. Agreement
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Bloom Social websites, apps, and related services (together, “Bloom”), operated by Bloom Social (Australia). By creating an account or using Bloom, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, and Billing & Refunds policy.
2. Eligibility (18+)
Bloom is only for people who are 18 years of age or older. By using Bloom you represent that you are at least 18. We may ask for identity or age verification and may suspend or permanently ban accounts that appear to belong to minors or that provide false age information.
3. Accounts
You must provide accurate information and keep your login details secure. You are responsible for activity on your account. One person should use one account. We may refuse, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or our Guidelines.
4. The Bloom service
Bloom is an LGBTQ+ social and dating platform for adults in Australia (and regions we support). Features may include profiles, Mixer matching, messaging, Discover (local businesses), Village events, and optional paid memberships (Plus / Premium). Features may change over time.
5. Subscriptions and billing
Free accounts may use core features with limits. Paid plans (Plus and Premium) are recurring subscriptions billed monthly, every 6 months, or yearly, depending on the option you choose at checkout. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Prices are shown at checkout in the currency offered for your region (typically AUD).
You can cancel or change plans through Settings → Manage billing (our payment provider’s customer portal). Cancellation stops future renewals; you keep paid access until the end of the current billing period. Abandoned checkout sessions are not charged. Full details are in our Billing & Refunds policy.
6. Identity verification
To protect the community, Bloom may require or offer identity or liveness verification through third-party providers (for example Stripe Identity today, and providers such as Persona or Sumsub in future). By completing verification you consent to that provider processing your ID and biometric data as described in their privacy notice and ours. Refusing required verification may limit access to some features.
7. Community conduct and monitoring
You must follow our Community Guidelines. Bloom prioritizes safety. We do not proactively read all direct messages, but you agree that Bloom may review communications (including private messages) when needed to enforce these Terms, investigate reports, or protect users. If someone reports you, our team may review the relevant chat history. Violations may result in warnings, feature limits, or a permanent ban.
8. Content and licence
You keep ownership of content you post. You grant Bloom a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, display, and distribute that content as needed to operate the service. Do not post content you do not have rights to, or that is illegal, harmful, or prohibited by our Guidelines.
9. Business listings
Businesses that list on Discover are responsible for the accuracy of their listing and for complying with applicable law. Business subscription terms (Pro / Elite) and featured placement are billed separately under the same billing principles described in our Billing policy.
10. Disclaimers
Bloom is provided “as is.” We do not guarantee matches, introductions, or uninterrupted service. Meeting people involves risk; take sensible safety precautions. To the extent permitted by Australian law, Bloom Social (Australia) is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service.
11. Termination
You may delete your account in Settings (where available) or by contacting support. We may suspend or terminate accounts for Terms or Guidelines breaches, fraud, chargeback abuse, or legal risk. Bans for serious violations may be permanent.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Courts in Australia have non-exclusive jurisdiction, without limiting any non-excludable consumer rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
